Dressing up with nowhere to go…
Before we go any further, I should probably clarify that this is certainly not me on a daily basis! During quarantine I’ve probably had a maximum of 5 days (not back-to-back) where I have put make-up on and got dressed. All other times I’ve been in my sweats or workout clothes (and not working out).
Like many during this time, I decided to sort through my wardrobe and rediscover my Summer clothes. Is anyone else’s clothes 80% Summer appropriate and 20% knitwear? As for some reason mine is!
It’s a strange time to start getting excited over Summer and buying new clothes etc, as much as I’d love to keep to that normality, It’s just not everyone’s reality at the moment.
In 2019 I only bought a few new pieces of clothing for Summer due to moving into our house in May, so things were a little tight! I did treat myself every now and then to a few new bits – although clearly without having much use for these pieces, as I’ve returned a year later to find all of the tags to still be in place… So I’m pretty much experiencing the new discovery of these clothes all over again!… That’s what I’m telling my shopping addiction anyway!
Of course I will be buying a few new Summer pieces this year, as in all honesty, most of my Summer clothes are from 2018 – and my style has definitely changed since then!
There are a few pieces I have my eyes on, I’m trying to steer my purchases towards smaller and less ‘fast fashion’ style brands during this time, in attempt to help small businesses and I’m generally just trying to reduce my fast fashion clothing intake.
Maybe I should think about adding a bit of colour to my wardrobe?? I mean by looking at these pictures I’m sure you would be thinking that!! Which feels a little contradictory as whenever I am online shopping I’m always drawn to all things patterned and colourful. Especially during Spring/ Summer time, I’m all about pastels and bright colours.
